A Veteran’s Non-Profit Organization Seeks Help With Evacuating Military Dogs Left In Kabul
As people continue to scramble to flee Afghanistan, many military dogs were left stranded in Kabul. One man’s nonprofit seeks to bring those dogs back home, and he’s been asking for donations to do it.
Joshua Hosler, President of the Veteran Sheepdogs of America, is working hard to help evacuate dozens of military dog companions used by US military personnel around Kabul. The mission is being called #OperationHercules on Twitter.
UPDATE!!!! Our efforts of rescuing has expanded to 46 military working & now we are coordinating with our contacts & flights to get the dogs and rescue people out of Kabul on same plane.
Thank you for all your help! This is a mess! #Afghanistan https://t.co/3vaYMaMAyd pic.twitter.com/OAtPXANxb6— Veteran Sheepdogs of America (@VetSheepdogsUS) August 29, 2021
Hosler took shots against millionaires and billionaires around the world, imploring Elon Musk and/or Bill Gates to write a $1.67 million check to cover the expenses associated with the canine rescue.
Active armed forces members are vouching for him online to dispel false rumors of him trying to scam people.
Veteran Tommy Amenta shared his support for the dog rescue efforts by posting a video to Twitter.
“Joshua [Hosler] is a saint. He is not a fraudster,” Amenta said, after confirming that the rescue planes are real.
The link to donate to the cause is located on the nonprofit’s Twitter page.
WE NEED A MIRACLE! We need @elonmusk @BillGates @JeffBezos to pay for a plane for 51 military dogs left in Kabul. NOT taking seats from humans. This will also save Americans & interpreters lives! We are working on funding for after aslo. Please RETWEET & tag anyone who has the $ https://t.co/fuYuHPaPJR
