Antifa Reportedly Attacks Home And Threatens Family Of Republican Senator Josh Hawley

GOP Senator Josh Hawley said a group of radical left-wing activists attacked his Washington D.C. home and threatened his wife and newborn who were home alone, demanding that he drop his plan to object to the electoral college vote certification on January 6.

“Tonight while I was in Missouri, Antifa scumbags came to our place in DC and threatened my wife and newborn daughter, who can’t travel,” Hawley wrote on Twitter.

“They screamed threats, vandalized, and tried to pound open our door. Let me be clear: My family & I will not be intimidated by left-wing violence.”

Senator Hawley of Missouri became the first senator to publicly announce that he will join some GOP House Republicans in rejecting the result of the 2020 Electoral College vote when it is presented to Congress — raising his concerns about the “integrity of this election” which he said he is entitled to do so just like how Democrats did so in both 2004 and 2016.

The activists with the organization “ShutDown DC,” meanwhile, live streamed their protest on the senator’s lawn describing their efforts as an “hour long vigil.”

“Activists lit candles and delivered a copy of the US Constitution to Hawley’s door,” the group posted on their website, saying that they also chanted ‘Shame! Shame on Hawley!’ and ‘Protect Democracy from the GOP’ amid Republican efforts to block the election certification.

The activists also reportedly “read” messages from voters in states that the Republican senator plans to contest including Pennsylvania.

“Tonight we dropped in at the home of @HawleyMO to encourage him to end his attack on democracy. Let’s be clear, Hawley and his pals are doing real and serious damage to our democracy. And they’re emboldening thugs like the #ProudBoys https://t.co/W5liUoi77u,” ShutDownDC wrote in a now deleted Twitter post.

Washington Post reporter Mike DeBonis tweeted the statement of the far-left activists.

“This evening around a dozen activists with ShutDownDC held an hour long vigil at the Virginia home of Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) to demand that he drop his baseless contestation of the 2020 presidential election results. Hawley was the first of 12 Republican senators who pledged to join more than 100 Republican House members in their plan to derail Congress’ acceptance of Joe Biden’s election win on January 6,” the group wrote.

“We came to let Hawley know that his actions are undemocratic and unacceptable,” said ShutDownDC activist Patrick Young, arguing that contested votes come from black and brown voters. “This is an attempted coup waged by silencing the voices of people of color.”

The Group also mocked the planned protests of supporters of President Donald Trump on January 6 calling the march a delusional “Stop the Steal” protest.”

Responding to the group’s claim of a “vigil,” Senator Hawley said: “Now “vigil” means screaming threats through bullhorns, vandalizing property, pounding on the doors of homes and terrorizing innocent people and children.”

Separately, other accounts of the incident refuted the “peaceful” vigil claim of the leftist group.

“Bulls**t! This was no candlelight vigil, this was an attempt to terrorize @HawleyMO’s family, his wife & kids, and neighbors, you made that very clear,” a conservative commentator wrote.
