AOC: ‘Trampling Racial Justice Is A Cause Of Climate Change’

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made another bizarre remark recently as she renewed her pitch for her Green New Deal — suggesting that “racial injustice” caused climate change.

Ahead of Earth Day, the self-proclaimed Democratic socialist tried pushing her contentious legislation by connecting climate change to the issue of racial injustice which has recently dominated headlines and conversation in the mainstream media.

“The climate crisis is a crisis born of injustice, and it is a crisis born of the pursuit of profit at any and all human and ecological cost,” AOC claimed.

“Which means that we must recognize in legislation that the trampling of indigenous rights is a cause of climate change, that the trampling of racial justice is a cause of climate change,” the progressive Democrat added.

AOC earlier proposed the roughly $93 trillion Green New deal —  which calls for, among others, a total ban on the use of fossil fuels, air conditioners, cars, airplanes, and even went as far as to blame farting cows for greenhouse gases

The far-left Democrat tried to further build the connection between her push to relate climate change and racial injustice.

“Because we are allowing people … to deny ourselves human rights and deny people the right to health care, the right to housing and education,” AOC added.

Reports earlier described Ocasio-Cortez’ Green New Deal proposal as a “document worthy of a 19th-century communist manifesto — or a 21st-century undergraduate student council resolution.”

“It presents claims unsupported by scientific evidence; makes demands for every benefit imaginable; and has no idea how to build or pay for any of it,” Breitbart’s Joel Pollak earlier wrote.

“The legislation fails to mention — even once — the historic oppression of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities. This is a homophobic and transphobic document,” he added.

White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy said  “said the United States needs to be humble going into this week’s Earth Day summit after four years away from global climate negotiations while President Donald Trump was in office.”

“There’s no question that we have to come back with a lot of eating a lot of humble pie,” McCarthy added.

Former President Donald Trump earlier withdrew from the Paris Agreement saying the deal was against the “nation’s interests.” He maintained that the environmental pact was “all cost but no benefit” for the United States.

The former President has also estimated that the “onerous energy restrictions” of the agreement would cost the US as much as 2.7 million jobs by 2025.

Democratic President Biden has rejoined the agreement since.

Nonetheless, while pushing for climate change and expressing his plan to push other world leaders to increase their commitments to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions, his very own special envoy for climate, former Secretary of State John Kerry, has traveled to countries like India, China and the United Arab Emirates to talk about their climate goals.

Ironically, Kerry also used a private jet to travel to Iceland in 2019 to receive an award for his climate leadership.

This is not the first time that AOC has made an unlikely connection between climate change and ideals she is pushing.

Last month, AOC blamed the border crisis on “imperialism, failed trade policies, and climate change.
