“Maybe it would be great to get back to an Election Day where you actually, maybe it’s a holiday, but you go and you vote. You vote in person unless you have a very good excuse, maybe like a medical excuse to vote via mail. Because while convenience is nice, convenience is outweighed by having the entire Democratic Republic be able to trust that its elections are being run fairly and securely,” Masters told Hoft.
Blake Masters also slammed policies that have forced Americans to outsource industrial jobs to China.
“There is no free trade with China. So I was a free-trade guy 10 years ago. And that sounds good. It’s good in theory. And in practice, the way we’ve run our free trade policy with China has just outsourced our entire industrial base to Southeast Asia, to the devastation of middle America. And so what we need to do as Republicans is be America First. It’s more nationalist, it’s less internationalist. It’s more America first, anti-globalist. We’ve got to make sure that everybody in this country has opportunity, has a good-paying job, can actually raise a family. And we’ve got to focus on some cultural issues. We ought to focus on more things than just maximizing GDP, which is the sort of Paul Ryan Republicanism that we’re not going back to,” Masters added.

Jim Hoft of The Gateway Pundit questioned Masters about being attacked over a “controversial” statement he was accused on making right after announcing his campaign for Arizona senator.
“So you announce on Monday and then within a couple of days, some group on the left has found a way to attack you about mothers staying at home with children, something like that. Can you explain?” Hoft questioned.
“Yeah, and I didn’t even say that. They put words in my mouth. Here’s what happened. In my announcement video, I have a line that says we need to build an economy where you can afford to raise a family on one single income. And I would have thought this was uncontroversial, right? Like we used to be able to do that in this country. In Detroit in the 60s, if your dad had a job at Ford, that job was enough to pay for a house and a car and maybe a vacation every year and your mom could afford to stay at home, raise the kids. Now, we can’t do that in this country,” Masters answered.
