Biden Gets Backlash For Breaking His Own Mandate Of Mask Wearing On Federal Property — Just Hours After He Signed It
President Joe Biden drew flak for being spotted maskless while visiting the Lincoln Memorial just hours after he signed an executive order requiring the public to wear a mask on all federal property in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Wearing masks isn't a partisan issue — it's a patriotic act that can save countless lives. That's why I signed an executive order today issuing a mask mandate on federal property. It's time to mask up, America.

“Wearing masks isn’t a partisan issue — it’s a patriotic act that can save countless lives,” Biden wrote on Twitter on Wednesday night. “That’s why I signed an executive order today issuing a mask mandate on federal property. It’s time to mask up, America.”
But just hours later, the new Democratic president was seen walking around a federal property without a mask — appearing to break his own mask mandate.

“Congratulations China,” former president Trump’s son, Don Jr. commented.
Does Joe Biden’s new executive order mandating masks on federal property not apply to Joe Biden while he’s on federal property?
Because here he is at the Lincoln Memorial with no mask just hours after signing it.

Biden, however, was wearing a mask when he signed the executive order for the 100-day mask mandate that would require the public to wear masks on federal property.

“The most pressing of his priorities are measures to combat the deadly coronavirus pandemic,” The Washington Post said. “Biden signed executive actions to require masks on all federal grounds and asked agencies to extend moratoriums on evictions and on federal student loan payments.”
His family members were also spotted at the same venue at Lincoln Memorial — also not wearing masks.

Earlier, new White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was also slammed for confirming that Biden did sign an executive order on wearing – while she was not wearing a mask as she stood in her first press conference.
“To combat the deadly virus, the president launched his 100-day masking challenge, asking Americans to do their part and mask up for 100 days,” Psaki said. “He’s doing his part as well, issuing a mask mandate that will require anyone visiting a federal building or federal land, or using certain modes of public transportation to wear a mask.”

Another one wrote: “Looking forward to the media harshly criticizing Jen Psaki for briefing without a mask like they did with Kayleigh” referring to former President Trump’s Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

Meanwhile, as a follow-up on his earlier mask rule on federal property, Biden also signed an order requiring Americans to mask up for travel — including wearing masks in airports and on airplanes, trains and maritime vessels as part of a slew of new executive orders he signed Thursday.
Just a few weeks ago, Biden blasted Republicans for not wearing masks during the Capitol Hill chaos.
“Quite frankly it was shocking to see members of the Congress while the Capitol was under siege by a deadly mob of thugs refuse to wear a mask while they were in secure locations,” Biden said then.
“What the hell is the matter with them? It’s time to grow up,” Biden continued. “For God’s sake, wear a mask if not for yourself, for your loved ones, for your country.”
