#BidenLied Trends On Twitter As Public Demand $2K Stimulus That Biden Promised

Twitter users slammed Democratic President Joe Biden and demanded he give them the $2,000 stimulus checks he “owed” them as he promised during the campaign for the Georgia Senate run-offs.

“Americans, not the most patient of people, are not happy, and over the weekend, some took to Twitter and complained — using the hashtag #BidenLied. It didn’t take long for that to start trending,” the Daily Wire reported.

The social media backlash came as the Democratic Party account tweeted that Biden is working to “build on the $600 downpayment provided by Congress last year” and will “send an additional $1,400 to households across America, totalling direct payments to $2,000 per person.”

Twitter users blasted the account — mostly lamenting how they feel “cheated” when Democratic candidates Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff — both won the Senate runoffs against then- incumbent Republicans David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler solely campaigning on the $2,000 coronavirus stimulus aid.

President Biden also used the stimulus check that time to encourage Georgia voters into electing Warnock and Ossoff and said the $2,000 stimulus checks would be sent to Americans “immediately” if Democrat Senate candidates win.

“If you send Jon and the Reverend to Washington, those $2,000 checks will go out the door, restoring hope and decency and honor for so many people who are struggling right now,” Biden said in Atlanta last month.

“And if you send Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler back to Washington, those checks will never get there. It’s just that simple. The power is literally in your hands,” he added.

Nonetheless, the Democratic president seemed to have backtracked on that commitment and is now pushing a $1,400 direct payment instead plus the $600 previously approved under former President Donald Trump  — which Democrats called that time as “a joke.”

This has prompted a slew of criticism against Biden and the Democrats online.

“Interesting. You never mentioned it being a fucking math problem when you needed votes,” one user wrote.

“Instead of this let’s go with what Joe promised before the Georgia runoff,” another said.

“Thank you for lying to everyone for the whole senate election cycle!” another one said.

“Y’all promised $2000 checks if you won the Senate, what’s this ‘down payment’ bullshit? I’m not selling you a car, I’m trying to keep a roof over my head and food on my table,” another user>answered.

“Hmmm when I voted for you it seemed like you meant $2,000 on a single check?” said another.

“You promised us $2,000 checks not $2,000 total,” another user wrote.

In a post following the weekend of backlash, President Biden trumpeted his “American Rescue Plan” which he said “will dig us out of the depths of these crises and put our nation on a path to build back better.”

“We’re facing an economic crisis brought on by a public health crisis, and we need urgent action to combat both. My American Rescue Plan will dig us out of the depths of these crises and put our nation on a path to build back better,” the Democratic president said.

Meanwhile, Twitter users followed Biden’s post and slammed him once again — demanding their $2,000 checks.

“How about you start with the $2000 you owe me,” one person said in response to Biden.

“We want a $2000 stimulus as promised not a $1400 stimulus! GA voted blue because they were promised $2000!!! 2022 midterms are not that far away!” another one said.

Democrats have already defended the move saying the $2,000 stimulus checks were not promised immediately.

But Ossoff was caught on record in the campaign trail saying Democrats — who now controls the White House, the Senate and the House — could pass the proposal for the $2,000 direct payments “next week.”

“We will be able to pass $2,000 stimulus checks for the people next week when we win these races in Georgia and get economic relief directly into the bank accounts of the people who are suffering right now,” Ossoff said in the video.
