Black Man Disguised Himself In “Whiteface” To Commit Crimes In Los Angeles

A man involved of more than 30 burglaries in the Los Angeles area was detained on Thursday, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.

According to BHPD, 33-year-old Rockim Prowell, of Inglewood, was pulled over May 2 by BHPD officers. During the investigation they found a face mask and other items that police said connected him to two residential burglaries in the city, CBALA found.

Prowell’s car was also discovered to be stolen, according to police.

Two charges of arson, two counts of grand theft, and one accusation of vandalism have been leveled against Prowell.

Items tying Prowell to additional residential burglaries were found after a search warrant at his Inglewood residence, according to the police department.

“Prior to his arrest, the Los Angeles Police Department put out a now-deleted tweet asking if anyone had surveillance video of the man — who appeared to be white. They included stills from footage of two separate incidents. In both, he was wearing a white mask,” The Gateway Pundit reported.

Prowell was linked to seven burglaries in the Pacific Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the Pacific Station.

On Twitter, LAPD Pacific posted, “It was odd this burglar’s mouth was always open when seen on video surveillance. When he was caught breaking into another home we discovered why.”

According to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department jail records, Prowell was released on probation at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Mainstream news like ABC7 Eyewitness News posted an image with their story leaving out a picture of the actual suspect.

One user responded to the outlet, “You forgot pictures of the suspect Rockim Prowell. Weird.”
