An unidentified man at a ‘Juneteenth’ Rally in Washington, D.C. on Friday appeared to compare himself to Jesus Christ being crucified on the cross.

The man had the letters ‘BLM’ painted on his white shorts.

Thousands of protesters are in attendance at a Black Lives Matter rally in Washington, D.C. to commemorate ‘Juneteenth,’ the anniversary of Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger’s arrival in Galveston, TX on June 19, 1865. Granger announced the emancipation of enslaved people, more than two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.

More than 20 events are scheduled today throughout the district. Earlier this morning, a statue of George Preston Marshall, the founding owner of the Washington Redskins who opposed desegregation, was removed from the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium campus in D.C.

Stadium officials claimed it was a win for ‘racial justice.’
