Bloomberg CAUGHT On Video Admitting Support For Racial Profiling Of Minorities

In a resurfaced video clip from 2013, Democrat 2020 presidential candidate and former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg was caught saying that minorities in New York City were being stopped-and-frisked “too little” while he was mayor.

In a separate audio clip, Bloomberg was caught claiming that 95% of criminals caught by the police are young, male minorities and that there should be a higher percentage of cops in minority neighborhoods.

“Ninety-five percent of your murders, murderers and murder victims fit one M.O.,” proclaimed Bloomberg in the audio from 2015.  “You can just take the description and Xerox it and pass it out to all the cops. They are male, minorities, 16-25. That’s true in New York, that’s true for virtually every city.”

Bloomberg went on, “That’s where the real crime is. You got to get the guns out of the hands of people that are getting killed. You want to spend the money on a lot of cops on the street. Put those cops where the crime is, which means in minority neighborhoods.”

Bloomberg then defended the dispropriate arrest levels of minorities for marijuana-related offenses: “And the unintended consequences is people say, ‘Oh my God, you are arresting kids for marijuana. They’re all minorities.’  Yes, that’s true. Why? Because we put all the cops in the minority neighborhoods. Yes, that’s true why we do it? Because that’s where all the crime is. And the way you get the guns out of the kids’ hands is throw them against the wall and frisk them. And then they start. They say, ‘Oh, I don’t want that. I don’t want to get caught.’  So they don’t bring the gun. They still have a gun, but they leave it home.”

Socialist Bernie Sanders aide Nina Turner blasted Bloomberg by calling him an “oligarch” who will buy the 2020 presidential election.

“The difference between Senator Sanders and Mayor Bloomberg is that [Sanders] has a movement behind him,” said Turner on MSNBC.  “He went to the people to lay out his vision and his message. Unlike a billionaire that’s buying the elections.”  Turner added, “So instead of bringing a message to the people and helping people to see a vision that he does not have, he is flat out trying to buy the White House. We should not want the oligarchs or the plutocracy of this nation to be able to buy elections. It should be fueled by the people.”

The Bloomberg campaign issued an apology on Twitter in response to the resurfaced clips.

“I have apologized for taking too long to understand the impact of stop and frisk on Black and Latino communities,” tweeted Bloomberg.  “I inherited stop and frisk. In an effort to stop gun violence, it was overused. I cut it back by 95%. I should have cut it back sooner.”
