BREAKING: Democrats Introduce Plan To Pack The Court With 4 New Justices, Report Says

House and Senate Democrats are planning to to unveil legislation on Thursday to expand the size of the Supreme Court, according to three congressional sources familiar with the closesly held measure, reported by The Intercept.

This bill would add four seats the Supreme Court, making it a total of 13 with the current 9.

Republicans are currently holding 6 seats and Democrats are with 3 after the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg and the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

The bill is being led by House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler, Subcommittee chair Hank Johnson, and freshman Rep. Mondaire Jones.

In the Senate, the bill is being championed by Ed Markey of Massachusetts.

The Daily Wire reported last week, “Court packing is so toxic that even socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) does not support it and has warned that if Democrats do it then “the next time the Republicans are in power they will do the same thing.”

RBG Condemned What Many Democrats Are Now Suggesting For The Supreme Court

We reported on an old video of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg who once said that ‘packing the courts’ is problematic and has said it is a bad idea when Democrats have done it in the past.

Justice Ginsberg stated, “I have heard that there are some people on the Democratic side who would like to increase the number of judges. I think that was a bad idea when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt tried to pack the court. His plan was for every justice who stays on the court past the age of 70, the president would have authority to nominate another justice. If that plan had been effective, the court’s number would have swelled immediately from nine to fifteen and the president would have six appointments to make.”
