BREAKING: Rush Limbaugh, Influential Media Icon, Dead At 70

Rush Limbaugh passed Wednesday at the age of 70 after his battle with lung cancer, his family announced and Limbaugh learned he had Stage IV lung cancer in January 2020. Days later he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Trump at the State of the Union address.

Fox News reported, “Limbaugh is considered one of the most influential media figures in American history and has played a consequential role in conservative politics since “The Rush Limbaugh Show” began in 1988. Perched behind his Golden EIB (Excellence in Broadcasting) Microphone, Limbaugh spent over three decades as arguably both the most beloved and polarizing person in American media.”

Limbaugh changed the game with talk radio and politics while helping shape the modern-day Republican Party. Trump said to Limbaugh at the of receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, “He is the greatest fighter and winner you will ever meet,” Trump said at the time. “Rush Limbaugh, thank you for your decades of tireless devotion to our country … in recognition of all you have done for our nation, I am proud to announce tonight that you will be receiving our country’s highest civilian honor: the Presidential Medal of Freedom.”

Rush Limbaugh’s wife Kathryn made the announcement on his radio show that he passed away, posted by Daily Caller on Twitter.
