BREAKING: Senate Votes Impeachment Trial Of Trump Is Constitutional
By a vote of 56 to 44, the Senate voted to move forward with former President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial and rejected the arguments made by Trump’s attorney’s who said that holding the trial of a former president is unconstitutional.
Six Republicans joined all 50 of the Democratic senators in voting to move forward with the trial.
According to CBS News, “But the vote also served as an indication of Mr. Trump’s eventual acquittal, since 17 GOP senators would need to vote with Democrats in order to convict him.”

Senator Marco Rubio spoke out against the impeachment, “We are going to spend a week focused on something that is not going to help anyone with the thing that matters in this country the most right now. And that’s a terrible thing. That’s a waste of our time.”
