BREAKING: Warning Shots Fired At A Dozen Iranian Gunboats Harassing 6 U.S. Warships
Several US warships were escorting a US submarine when Iranian military gunboats with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, a classified terrorist group, swarmed them.
In 2019, the United States designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist organization.
“Over a dozen Iranian gunboats harass formation of six U.S. warships including guided-missile submarine Georgia. U.S. Coast Guard cutter fired warning shots in response in Strait of Hormuz,” Fox News Pentagon correspondent Lucas Tomlinson said.
“It’s the second time in two weeks a U.S. warship fired warning shots at Iranian gunboats,” Tomlinson shared in a second post.

The 13 Iranian military vessels were said to have approached within 150 yards of US forces, which fired 30 alert shots at them. The event, according to Pentagon secretary John Kirby, was “significant” since prior accidents involving less warships.
“#BREAKING: US Navy vessels escorting USS Georgia submarine in Strait of Hormuz encountered a dozen IRGC Iranian attack boats; US navy fired 30 warning shots before Iranian boats left,” Amichai Stein, a correspondent reported to Twitter.

The warning shots from a .50 caliber machine gun were fired after the Iranian fast boats came as close as 150 meters to six US military vessels escorting the nuclear-powered USS Georgia sub (usually armed with long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles), states @PentagonPresSec.
