California Governor’s Race: Hundreds Of Recall Ballots Found In Suspect’s Car
CA – Torrance police’s Special Investigations Division, the US Postal Service, and the LA County District Attorney’s Public Integrity Unit are all investigating the theft of hundreds of stolen California recall election ballots.
According to CBSLA, this comes at a time when Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom is facing razor-thin polling numbers.
In the car of a suspect arrested last Monday, more than 300 recall ballots were discovered. Torrance police have not stated why the person was detained or where the arrest occurred.
Investigators are trying to figure out how the ballots got into the car and what the person’s intention was in having them. The suspect’s political party is unknown at this time.
According to Torrance police, those whose ballots were stolen will be given a new ballot.
This theft is being treated as a one-time occurrence and is allegedly unrelated to any other election ballot thefts.
Police are standing by for information regarding the incident.
