Tiktok is facing blowback for banning the account of 17-year-old Feroza Aziz after Aziz posted a video in which she called out China for detaining Muslims.
In her video, Aziz talked about the mass detention of Uighurs, a predominantly Muslim minority in the western region of Xinjiang, also known as East Turkestan.
TikTok denies that it banned Aziz for the video in which she attacked China and instead says that she was banned for previously posting a video about Osama Bin Laden.
Aziz has since reached out to President Trump via Twitter, accusing China of censorship.
The TikTok app, which is owned by a Beijing based company called Bytedance, has also been accused of allowing the Chinese Communist Party to spy on American users.
