Federal Documents Reveal “Defund The Police” Advocate AOC Spends Massive Amount Of Money On Private Security

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is an outspoken supporter of the “defund the police” campaign, yet she is also a big fan of hiring her own private security team, which includes a former Blackwater contractor.

According to Federal Election Commission documents, Ocasio-Cortez paid tens of thousands of dollars for her own personal protection in the first half of 2021. According to federal documents, AOC spent more over $34,000 on private security between January 2021 and June 2021.

“The lion’s share of the cash — $28,498 — was spent locally, at New York’s own Three Bridges, LLC, which bills itself as part of ‘a new generation of the private security industry,'” according to the New York Post.

Tullis Worldwide Protection, which is run by former Blackwater contractor Devin Tullis, reportedly received $4,636 on for “security services” from Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign in the first half of this year.

Tullis Worldwide Protection, located in Virginia, claims to have a “top tier client base to include royal family members from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and two major media organizations.”

Tullis, who worked for Blackwater at the start of his career, didn’t provide The New York Post specifics on the type of security his company offers the congresswoman, but he did say the position wasn’t for the faint of heart, adding, “We’re not hiring social workers.” Tullis is alluding to proposals by far-left Democrats to replace police personnel with social workers.

Ocasio-Cortez has been an outspoken backer of the “defund the police” movement. On her Twitter account with over 12 million followers, the avowed socialist has written numerous tweets calling to “defund” ICE and police.

Ocasio-Cortez slammed fellow Democrat and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio last summer. Ocasio-Cortez was enraged by the progressive New York City mayor’s proposal to cut almost $1 billion from the New York City Police Department budget, which she felt was insufficient. “Defunding police means defunding police,” Ocasio-Cortez said in response to de Blasio.

When Democrats, including former President Barack Obama, warned that the “defund the police” slogan may send the wrong message to voters, Ocasio-Cortez chastised her own party’s leadership for not fully embracing the anti-police campaign.

“The thing that critics of activists don’t get is that they tried playing the ‘polite language’ policy game and all it did was make them easier to ignore,” she said on Twitter. “It wasn’t until they made folks uncomfortable that there was traction to do ANYTHING even if it wasn’t their full demands.”

“The whole point of protesting is to make ppl [sic] uncomfortable,” Ocasio-Cortez continued.

The Republican Study Committee, the largest House conservative caucus, produced a video compilation of Democrats pushing for police defunding earlier this month, which included Ocasio-Cortez.

A representative for Ocasio-Cortez declined to respond to the New York Post.
