Flashback: Florida Sheriff Puts On Gold Chain To Roast Drug Traffickers With Impromptu Rap

FL – Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd went viral in July after he donned a gold chain and briefly rapped during a press conference announcing that 32 had been charged, and 29 arrested, in a 16-month illegal drug investigation.

The investigation was centered in the Lake Wales area and was dubbed “Operation Bell Gang Blues” after a rap group that included some of those jailed.

Several arrests were made as a result of the operation, which resulted in the seizure of roughly $283,820 in illegal substances, $88,000 in cash, and $89,000 in jewelry.

Judd revealed during the news conference that a handful of those arrested were rappers. He then proceeded to mock the criminals after putting on a gold chain.

“Well, how cool are you today? Can you all make up a rap song about this? Well, I’ll help you out,” Judd started rapping.

“You see, we got ‘ya gold. We put your tail . . . in the county jail,” Judd spat. “Think about that brothers. And you know what? You can call it the Bell Gang Blue rap song. How’s that? You may think it’s cool, but it will end up with you arrested, every time.”

More recently, Judd successfully apprehended 17 people from across central Florida under “Operation Child Protector,” a six-day undercover investigation into child predators. Some of the suspects were former Disney employees.

“These are nasty, nasty, nasty people, and when we go through this, understand that obviously, we can’t even use the words they used,” Judd said. “We obviously can’t show you the pictures and the video clips that they sent to what they thought were 13-year-old little girls and little boys.
