Fox News Suddenly Cancels ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight,’ — Trump Issues Statements Praising Dobbs: ‘Nobody Loves America More Than Lou’
Fox News has abruptly canceled the show “Lou Dobbs Tonight” with the final broadcast aired Friday night, according to multiple reports.
The “Lou Dobbs Tonight” is Fox Business’ highest-rated show hosted by Lou Dobbs, a known conservative populist — who has publicly spoken against bad trade deals, protecting American jobs, strengthening US manufacturing, and often hitting the country’s failed laws on illegal immigration.

The show airs daily at 5 p.m. ET, re-aired at 7p.m. on Fox Business, and is the top-rated “news program on business television.”
The network confirmed canceling Dobb’s show but it offered no clear explanation behind the decision to end the show which has a bigger audience than all its competition. Fox Business merely said that it regularly reviews its programming lineup.
“Plans have been in place to launch new formats as appropriate post-election, including on Fox Business,” the network said. “This is part of those planned changes.”
Nonetheless, reports noted that the sudden cancellation of the show was related to the $2.7 billion defamation suit filed against Fox Corporation and its two other Fox anchors — including Lou Dobbs — by voting software maker Smartmatic alleging that the company “defaming” them by questioning the integrity of the vote-counting process in the 2020 election.
CNN’s chief media correspondent Brian Stelter claimed that Fox News’ decision to cancel the “Lou Dobbs Tonight” show was done to hold Dobbs “accountable” for reporting on the voter fraud issue in the November 3 election.
“Breaking news, ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight’ which happens to be the highest-rated show on Fox Business, is suddenly canceled. Dobbs, who peddled false theories of election fraud claims all the way through this saga, is named with two other Fox hosts in a $2.7 billion lawsuit.”
Stelter said: “It’s Dobbs’ extreme content that is the issue and his weakness with advertisers. Of course, he was a sycophant for President Trump. One of Trump’s biggest boosters on TV, and now there is less use for that.”
The CNN correspondent also alleged that “Dobbs was a troublemaker for Fox even before spreading the lie about the election.” Despite being the highest-rated show on Fox Business, Stelter claimed that “advertisers didn’t want to be anywhere near him” and that the show “wasn’t profitable.”
“There are a lot of factors. The biggest factor is the obvious one. The big lie about the election actually has consequences. Maybe not for President Trump … but at least for people that peddled his lies, they are being held accountable,” CNN’s Stelter alleged.
Trump backs Lou Dobbs as show ends

Lou Dobbs. The very best. Smartest voice on television. Had the highest rated show, by far, on his network. Had the highest rated show on the network he was on before FOX too, and the network before that. FOX in a tailspin. @LouDobbs #loudobbs pic.twitter.com/1YA657OxY1
