Gov. Cuomo Hit With Multiple Sexual Harassment Allegations

Lindsey Boylan, the former deputy secretary for economic development and special adviser to the governor, revealed that Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo constantly hounded her. He is alleged to make inappropriate comments and incited unwanted kissing and touching.

Boylan recalled multiple incidents. One was when Cuomo said in 2017, “Let’s play strip poker.”

Another encounter was when Cuomo allegedly invited Boylan to meet at his Albany office. He showed Boylan a cigar box that was supposedly given to him by Ex-President Clinton. Boylan said she interpreted this as innuendo that referenced the Clinton-Lewinsky affair in the 90s.

Boylan, when she was first employed by the Cuomo administration, was warned by her coworkers to “be careful around the Governor.” Boylan claimed that top women around Cuomo “normalized” his behavior. She specifically named a woman named Melissa DeRosa.

Stephanie Benton, director of the governor’s offices, alleged that Cuomo had her look up images of Lisa Shields. Shield was rumored to be Cuomo’s ex-girlfriend. Boyland and Shield allegedly looked like they “could be sisters.” Cuomo allegedly followed with Boylan being “the better-looking sister.”

Boylan recalled Cuomo consistently misnaming her. She said, “The Governor began calling me ‘Lisa’ in front of colleagues. It was degrading.”

Cuomo allegedly forced Boylan to kiss him on the lips during a visit to his New York City office.

“I was in shock, but I kept walking,” Boylan wrote.

“The idea that someone might think I held my high-ranking position because of the Governor’s crush’ on me was more demeaning than the kiss itself.”

Boylan anticipates that Cuomo and his allies will attempt to discredit her claims, “just like they’ve done with Assemblymember Kim.”

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) pushed for Cuomo to resign after reading Boylan’s story, calling him the “Worst Governor in America” and a “criminal sexual predator.”

In a statement released by Stefanik, she said “”It is an inexcusable disgrace that almost every other elected official in New York State quietly brushed this serious and credible allegation under the rug.”

“Sexual harassment and sexual abuse in the workplace is not a political issue, it is about right and wrong.”

Alongside this new scandal, Cuomo continues to face bipartisan outcry against his mishandling of the COVID pandemic, specifically the massive amount of nursing home deaths.
