Gov. DeSantis Says Flags Will Fly Half-Staff For Rush Limbaugh

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Friday that flags will be at half-staff to honor conservative radio icon Rush Limbaugh. Gov. DeSantis announced this in West Palm Beach for a news conference focused on legislation for election integrity.

“I know they’re still figuring out the arrangements but what we do when there’s things of this magnitude, once the date of interment for Rush is announced, we’re going to be lowering the flags to half-staff,” Gov. DeSantis said.

Limbaugh was a resident of Palm Beach, Florida, since 1996 and the radio studio was originally started from his house but later leased an office space less than a mile away to continue his show.
Gov. Ron DeSantis posted a statement when Limbaugh passed, “@FLCaseyDeSantis and I are saddened to learn of the passing of fellow Floridian and our friend, Rush Limbaugh. My statement.”

According to Tampa Bay Times, “the governor’s office’s Flag Protocol, the state flags are to be lowered on certain holidays honoring veterans; if a present or former governor of Florida dies; if an active service member from Florida dies; if a prominent state official dies or if a law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty.

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany posted as it was revealed, “In Florida, @GovRonDeSantis will lower the flags in honor of Rush Limbaugh!
