Hollywood Conservatives To Launch Film Company To Produce Movies That ‘Support Our Country’
Antonio Sabato Jr., who was earlier cancelled by Hollywood for publicly supporting President Donald Trump, has announced that he will be launching a film studio that is “pro-America” along with other conservatives in the industry.
The 48-year old-actor told “The Kyle Olson Show” over the weekend of his plan to put-up ConFlix Studios saying American conservatives have been “eagerly waiting” for entertainment outside the progressive Hollywood and one that “supports our country” rather than vilifying it.
“We are patriots who want to keep going and support our country, support our law enforcement, support the history of our country, the Constitution, the flag, our soldiers, and so much more,” Sabato Jr., said.
Sabato Jr., an immigrant from Italy, has a career spanning 30 years before he said Hollywood “blacklisted” him for backing President Trump in both 2016 and 2020 elections. He has appeared in dozens of shows including the primetime hit “Melrose Place” and other daytime drama like “General Hospital,” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Sabato also starred in more than 40 movies.
The former actor, who admitted to working long days in construction after his career was cut off by Hollywood said the entertainment industry has “moved away from supporting our country in so many ways.”
On the contrary, ConFlix Studios will create movies and TV content showcasing “classic American values” saying his new film venture will produce films that “support our country, support our God, support our flag.”
He said millions of conservative Americans are “eagerly waiting for something new” — as he noted that he wants to make “movies about what happened to our president.”
“Who’s going to do it if we don’t do it?” Sabato Jr., added.
According to its website, ConFlix’s first project includes a film called “Trail Blazers,” about a “band of siblings who were once robbers, thieves and killers of the west, decide to fulfill their father’s dying wish of abandoning their life of crime and pursuing the path of the holy.”
Sabato Jr., earlier spoke of how many outspoken conservatives in the entertainment industry were “blacklisted in Hollywood.” His new venture is expected to keep them working while keeping American values in their productions.
The actor earlier told Variety that he “couldn’t line up any new roles” after the 2016 election and was also dropped from a reality TV because of his political belief — although he said he didn’t always vote Republican and in fact supported Bill Clinton for both of his presidential bids.
“I had to sell everything,” Sabato Jr., told Variety that time. “I had to pay all my debts. I was blacklisted. All my representatives left me, from agents to managers to commercial agents. I literally had to move, find a new job to survive and take care of my kids,” the evangelical Christian also said.
“It’s been terrible. It’s mind-blowing. It’s a disgrace. It’s tough, because if you’re in that environment in Hollywood and you have something to say that they don’t like, they’re going to let you know,” he added.
Sabato Jr., spoke during the Republican National Convention in 2016, becoming among the only celebrities to give a speech for President Trump back then — he said he was “blacklisted in a matter of 24 hours because they have so much power.”
“I know a lot of actors who are lying about who they’re going to vote for because they don’t want the crap. They won’t want to be talked about and fired from movie sets,” he added, noting that he doesn’t regret his decision.
Other well-known conservative celebrities include Robert Wagner, Scott Baio, Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo, Kristy Swanson, Stacey Dash and Deana Martin.
