Hot Mic Catches Judiciary Democrats Making Fun Of Pledge After Matt Gaetz Proposes Idea

A hot microphone caught House Judiciary Democrats making fun of Republican Representative Matt Gaetz’s request to have the committee recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of hearings as a way of showing the country that Congress can unite and work together.

Rep. Gaetz proposed the idea but Rep. Jerry Nadler said it was “unnecessary” because the House begins everyday with the Pledge.

Rep. Burgess Owens spoke out and said, “15 seconds to show our kids that…we can agree to disagree, but we love our country enough to at least stand and represent our flag.”

“Let’s stand, let’s pledge our flag…and then we will be an example of what unity looks like.” Owens shared.

Both Rep. Gaetz and Owens spoke out in support of working together but of course, the Democrats shut down this idea, and then they were caught on a hot mic mocking the idea of saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
