HUGE Win For 2nd Amendment: L.A. Sheriff Suspends Plan To Shut Down Gun Stores

Confusion is currently swirling in Los Angeles County, as the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has decided to suspend its current efforts to shut down local gun stores in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

At the current moment, the county counsel’s office is working to decide whether or not the gun stores in Los Angeles country should be considered an “essential business.”

Gun Sales Surge As Coronavirus Pandemic Spreads

California Governor Gavin Newsom has
already issued a statewide order, asking all nonessential businesses to close
their doors.  The LA sheriff’s spokesperson says that the
decision-making process on how to classify gun stores is still ongoing.

Various venues are not complying with the guidelines that have been set when it comes to everyone’s news favorite term, “social distancing.” This is causing Villanueva to consider all options that are available. Initially, reporters had been told that all businesses that did not pertain to prescriptions, health care or food needed to be shut down.

The order to stay at home has been
violated by gun stores and bars. Several
non-designated businesses are believed to have remained open, in direct
defiance of the state orders that have been handed down.

Deputies will remain on the lookout for businesses that are violating the shutdown order and will begin enforcing social distancing rules. 1,300 deputies are going to be deployed to ensure that the orders are followed. If nonessential businesses are not willing to close their doors, their patrons could be cited by the authorities for refusal to adhere to the social distancing guidelines.

Meanwhile, would-be gun owners have been lining up to purchase firearms in record numbers. Many of these shoppers are first-time gun owners who are looking to increase their level of preparedness, especially since the state of California is releasing hundreds of dangerous prisoners due to the coronavirus pandemic.

County jails all-across California are currently in the process of releasing 1,700 inmates who have less than 30 days to serve on their current sentences. Local officials are looking to reduce the coronavirus spread among the prison population.

“The responsible thing to do is
be prepared,” says Irene Zamorano. She resides in South Pasadena and has

While gun stores are experiencing an uptick in customers, they are not sure if they are going to be allowed to remain open. It remains to be seen where the county counsel office is going to land on this one.

Burbank Ammo and Guns owner David Schwartz believes that this is going to be an hour by hour process. He is not sure where all of the first-time buyers have come from but he wants to provide them with the support that they need in these difficult times.
