Instacart Driver Allegedly Destroys Elderly Couple’s Groceries Because They Support Local Police, ‘F**k The Racist Police Pigs’

A Minnesota woman claims an Instacart mobile grocery delivery order worth at least $50 intended for her elderly relatives was deliberately destroyed by the delivery driver after the driver was triggered by a yard sign showing support for the local police department.

In a Facebook post, Amber Gray detailed the story. Gray claimed her elderly relatives have faced “big life changes” over the past year and that money was tight. She said, “This morning they made an Instacart grocery purchase to be delivered to their door. Nothing crazy. Just a couple of bags worth. They received the usual notifications; Tara is shopping, Tara is on her way, Tara is in your neighborhood.” Gray said her relatives were worried the Instacart driver might struggle in their unshoveled driveway so “they rushed out to meet her.”

“As they opened the door they heard Tara screaming for them to check inside their Christmas wreath. It also seemed that she was stuck in the driveway, rocking the car back and forth to get free? Seeing no groceries anywhere they checked the wreath.”

The post continues, “To their utter disbelief they found a hateful note crudely scribbled on a random receipt. In harsh bold marker it read, “Instacart doesn’t pay employees sry find another slave fuck the police racist pigs”. A short time later they discovered their groceries in the driveway, casualties of Tara’s hateful act. She wasn’t stuck after all, she was running their groceries over.”

Gray alleges her relatives had a yard sign out that supported the local police department which could’ve triggered the driver. She added in her post, “Supporting law enforcement doesn’t make you a racist. And it absolutely doesn’t give anyone the right to destroy your things or shatter your sense of safety.”

On Twitter, Instacart confimred that the incident has been reported to their “Trust and Safety Team for review”, adding that they “take these matters seriously”.

Gray alleges, in an update to her post, that the local police department “has been fielding dozens of calls from concerned citizens questioning the GoFundMe. They continue to assure folks that it isn’t a scam.”

Gray als organized a GoFundMe, which has raised over $3,000 for her relatives’ groceries.
