Iran Sends Warning President Trump And “Anyone Else” Linked To Killing Of Soleimani: You “Will Not Be Safe On Earth”
A top Iranian official said President Donald Trump and “anyone else” linked to the US strike last year that killed military leader, Major-General Qassem Soleimani “will not be safe on Earth.”
Reports said Ebrahim Raisi, Iran’s judiciary chief, warned on Friday that not even the US President is “immune from justice” for the January 2020 airstrike near a Baghdad airport that killed Soleimani — one of the world’s most dangerous terrorists.
“They will witness severe revenge. What has come so far has only been glimpses” of it,” Raisi reportedly said, referring to President Trump and other officials of the US military who orchestrated the takedown of the second most powerful figure in Iran after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
“Do not presume that someone, as the president of America, who appeared as a murderer or ordered a murder, may be immune from justice being carried out. Never,” Raisi added, according to a report by Times of Israel. “Those who had a role in this assassination and crime will not be safe on Earth.”
January 3, Sunday, marks the first death anniversary of Soleimani — also the leader of ‘Quds Force,’ the foreign operations arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which has been a designated terror group since 2007.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has often referred to Soleimani’s killing as an “assassination” although the US has defended the airstrike with The Pentagon saying then that the move was “meant to deter future attacks” from Iran, noting that Soleimani was already planning imminent combat operations against the US military.”
President Trump said then that the late Soleimani was planning to blow up four US embassies.
Army Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the nation’s highest-ranking military officer, also earlier defended the US decision to take down Soleimani.
“I’ll stand by the intelligence I saw that was compelling, it was imminent, and it was very very clear in scale and scope … those of us who were involved in the decision-making of that, we would have been culpably negligent to the American people had we not made the decision we made,” he said.
Iran warns of ‘severe revenge’ that could come ‘within’ the US
Soleimani’s successor as Quds Force chief also threatened separately of ‘severe revenge’ — which he said could come “from anywhere,” even within the United States.
“It’s even possible that there are people inside your home [the United States] that will respond to your crime,” Esmail Ghaani warned on Friday.
Meanwhile, the top commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Gen. Hossein Salami, said Iran is “ fully prepared” to deter any US military aggression as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high.
“Today, we have no problem, concern or apprehension toward encountering any powers. We will give our final words to our enemies on the battlefield,” the Iranian military official said, without specifically mentioning the US.
On the other hand, President Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran ahead of Christmas Day after several rockets were fired at the US Embassy in Baghdad.
“Our embassy in Baghdad got hit Sunday by several rockets. Three rockets failed to launch. Guess where they were from: IRAN. Now we hear chatter of additional attacks against Americans in Iraq,” the US President wrote.

“Some friendly health advice to Iran: If one American is killed, I will hold Iran responsible. Think it over,” Trump added.
