Jen Psaki ‘Out Of The Office’, Biden Stayed Silent On Taliban Insurrectionists-Watch Live Biden’s Remarks On Afghanistan
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, like her boss President Joe Biden, appears to be taking time off from her duties — at the same time as public criticism of the Democratic administration grows following the debacle in Afghanistan over the weekend when Taliban forces seize control of Kabul.
President Biden is reportedly also on vacation at Camp David when the Taliban takeover ensued with little to no resistance.
Fox News said it sent questions to Psaki’s White House email on Sunday and received an auto-reply instead.
It added that it also tried reaching Psaki once more on the evening of Sunday — and got the same auto-reply from the White House spokeswoman.
“I will be out of the office from August 15th-August 22nd,” the auto-reply email reportedly said. Fox said Psaki also directed emails from the press to other press officers in lieu of her absence.
The publication noted the timing of Psaki’s absence which coincides with mounting criticism of Biden’s decision to remain on vacation as the Taliban gain control of most of Afghanistan, including advancing into Kabul and taking the presidential palace at a breakneck speed that has caught the White House off guard.
Even as Taliban forces were seen on video celebrating the seizing of the presidential palace, Biden remained mostly quiet and tried avoiding cameras as Kabul fell to the Taliban — prompting critics to call him out nonstop.
Former President Donald Trump also called for Biden’s resignation amid the debacle.
“Where is Joe Biden,” GOP Rep. Jim Banks (Indiana), a Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan, said on Sunday as the situation in Kabul began escalating.

How much money did we spend in Afghanistan over the last 20 years that we were told we could never afford to spend at home?

Our troops did not fail us. We failed our troops. And their pain will endure long after we withdraw. My thoughts are with all of them. You did what your country asked of you. Your sacrifice must not be forgotten.

The White House has only broken its silence to post a photo of Biden which appears to be a briefing with senior officials.
”This morning, the President and Vice President met with their national security team and senior officials to hear updates on the drawdown of our civilian personnel in Afghanistan, evacuations of SIV applicants and other Afghan allies, and the ongoing security situation in Kabul,” the White House posted on Twitter.

Reports said Biden did not address the nation on Sunday either opting to tackle the issue in the next few days as he remains at Camp David.
However, as frustration and criticism grew, Biden finally broke his silence and announced that he will be addressing the nation on Taliban takeover in Afghanistan on Monday.
I will be addressing the nation on Afghanistan at 3:45 PM ET today.
