Knives Kill Far More People Than Rifles In America, FBI Stats Reveal

The recent Atlanta and Boulder shootings are driving left-wing attempts to eradicate the Second Amendment in the United States. Biden’s team is currently targeting “assault-style” weapons like the AR-15. However, FBI data shows that far more murders are committed with knives or even hands and feet.

2019 FBI data shows that the number of homicides committed with a rifle is 364. Compare this to the number of homicides from other firearms at 10,258.

Handguns were listed as the number-one weapon in 6,368 cases, and shotguns were accounted for 200. 45 cases were listed as “other gun,” and 3,281 cases in which the firearms were not specified.

600 people were killed in 2019 with what the FBI classifies as “personal weapons,” meaning melee weapons such as hands, fists, or feet.

Knives or other “cutting tools” accounted for 1,476 homicides, triple the amount of those killed by rifles.

Every mass shooting has been taken as an opportunity by Democrats to ban “assault-style” rifles, arguing that the AR-15 was the weapon of choice in several mass shooting events.

“Assault-style” shootings have been the target of left-wing media outlets for years. Gang-related gun violence in Democrat-controlled cities is largely ignored by the media.

The Trace reported that mass shootings that occur in majority-Black neighborhoods are not given the spotlight treatment.

As Americans brace for another assault on their Second Amendment rights, the gun industry prepares for another surge in preparedness-buying of firearms.

“When you hear more calls for firearm restrictions, we have observed gun sale increases primarily from people buying before they’re not able to,” said Rob Southwick, founder of the market research firm Southwick Associates.
