Lara Logan Says Biden Administration Should Stop ‘Bowing To A Terrorist Group’, Suggests What Can Be Done Overnight
Journalist Lara Logan lashed at the administration of President Joe Biden for “bowing” to the Taliban — arguing that the United States can “bomb” the militants back to the Stone Age.
Logan, who is also a war correspondent said the steps being taken by the Democratic administration to handle the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan is a slap in the face of Americans, as she cited the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
“What we’ve forgotten is we can bomb the Taliban back into the stone age overnight. They don’t have to be in charge of Kabul,” Logan told Fox News host Martha MacCallum.
Logan also rebuked the statement of Biden’s Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, Taliban is “in control” of Kabul — saying that “the world’s super power [is] bowing to a terrorist group” — “not just any terrorist group,” but the one “responsible for 9/11.”

The Fox News host also lamented how the Biden administration appears to be “deferring to the Taliban” instead of “holding them accountable” on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack which has killed 2,977 people and left more than 6,000 others injured.
Logan went on with her tirade and accused the Democratic administration of “breaking the law” by negotiating with a terrorist group.
“What has happened is that the American people have been deceived. They’ve been lied to by their leaders,” the investigative journalist added.
“The United States is elevating America’s enemies, including the Taliban but not confined to the Taliban. This is a betrayal not just of the Afghan people,” Logan continued, adding that the messy pullout of US troops in Afghanistan also put America’s world standing on the line.
“They’re saying to the world the Taliban is in charge here. We are not really a super power because if we were, we would use our power, which we’re not,” Logan said, noting that there are “literally hundreds of options” to vanquish the Taliban militants.
“We could turn this around in a heartbeat and we’re not doing that,” she insisted.
In his address to the nation over the weekend, President Biden admitted that “a lot could still go wrong in Afghanistan,” while maintaining that his policy for pulling out US troops remains “logical” and “reasonable.”
On Monday, the Pentagon also remained tight-lipped on the evacuation effort in Afghanistan, refusing to reveal how many Americans were rescued from Kabul. Some refugees fleeing through the country are also being screened for possible links to terrorist organizations.
Biden not extend deadline
Meanwhile, despite the warning from the intelligence community that there won’t be enough time to evacuate all Americans and US-allies in Afghanistan before the August 31 deadline set by the Biden administration, President Biden decided not to extend US troops in the country for the evacuation efforts.
NEW: Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby says "there's been no change to the timeline of the mission" as Pres. Biden meets with G7 leaders and after CIA Director Burns failed to negotiate a deadline extension with the Taliban after Aug. 31st.

Defense Dept. Press Secretary John Kirby said Tuesday that the White House is still “aiming toward the end of the month” for the full withdrawal of US forces in Afghanistan.
“We continue to make progress every day in getting Americans – as well as Special Immigrant Visa applicants and vulnerable Afghans – out,” Kirby said. “We remain committed to getting any and all Americans that want to leave, to get them out. We still believe – certainly now that we have been able to increase the capacity and the flow – we believe that we have the ability to get that done by the end of the month.”
This decision by the Biden administration comes after a Taliban spokesperson warned the US against extending its troops in Afghanistan warning of “consequences” should the US stay beyond August 31.
