Large Majority Of Likely Voters Disapprove Of Biden’s Handling Of US Afghanistan Operations

A large majority of Americans were unhappy at the Biden administration’s move in Afghanistan which recently saw the fall of the country to Taliban forces, 20 years and trillions of dollars after the US launched its longest war in the country.

A survey conducted by The Trafalgar Group with the Convention of States Action found that 59.5% of likely general election voters strongly disapproved of President Joe Biden’s handling of America’s military operations in Afghanistan, while 9.8% disapproved.

The same survey saw only 12.4% of Americans approving Biden’s call in Afghanistan, with another 10.7% strongly approving of the move. Meanwhile, 7.5% had no opinion on the matter.

“A recent survey found that a majority of likely general election voters disapprove of President Biden’s handling of U.S. military operations in Afghanistan … which combines for a whopping 69.3% in the survey expressing disapproval,” The Blaze said in a report.

The survey found that 80% of Republicans “strongly disapprove” of Biden’s move in Afghanistan — which now raises fear of a possible resurgence of Al Qaeda — the Islamic terrorist group who were behind the 9/11 attacks.

An additional 8.8% of GOP voters also said they disapprove.

Meanwhile, Biden also performed poorly when it came to Democratic voters, with 36.9% strongly disapproving of the president’s action, and another 11.3% disapproving for a total of 48.2% “strongly disapprove” or “disapprove” rating in his own party.

The poll revealed that 16.9% of likely Democrat voters strongly approve of Biden’s move in Afghanistan, while 22.9% said they approve.

The survey was conducted between August 14-15 among 1,084 respondents with a 2.98% margin of error.

Trump blasts Biden: “The most embarrassing military outcome”

As the majority of Americans showed disapproval of Biden’s actions in Afghanistan, former President Donald Trump also castigated Biden anew — calling the Afghanistan fiasco as the “most embarrassing military outcome” in US history.

“It’s not that we left Afghanistan. It’s the grossly incompetent way we left!” the former Republican chief executive said on Monday.

“Afghanistan is the most embarrassing military outcome in the history of the United States. It didn’t have to be that way!” Trump said in another statement.

“Can anyone even imagine taking out our military before evacuating civilians and others who have been good to our Country and who should be allowed to seek refuge? In addition, these people left topflight and highly sophisticated equipment. Who can believe such incompetence? Under my Administration, all civilians and equipment would have been removed,” he added.

Earlier, Biden already faced intense backlash from various sectors over the turn of events in Afghanistan.

“Biden is trying to distract and imply his option was to either send more troops or end a war. That wasn’t the case. It has always been about protecting America. This exit from Afghanistan and the way it was done was pathetic. He gave the terrorists a win and he knows it,” former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley tweeted on Monday.

GOP Senator Mike Braun (Indiana) also called out Bidenl, describing the exit of military troops as “disgraceful.”

“It’s disgraceful that we’re leaving Afghanistan in an embarrassing way like this,” Braun said. “Unfortunately, this was botched by the Biden administration, and they should be held accountable for this.”

For his part, Senator Marco Rubio said: “Biden, the White House & their shameless hype men at MSNBC continue attacking the straw man of leaving #Afghanistan.”

“It isn’t about deciding to leave, it’s about the incompetent way they executed it,” he added.
