Leaked Email Exposes California School Official Changing Child’s Pronouns Without Parental Consent
In an exclusive report from an independent journalist, an assistant principal from San Pasqual Union School in California seems to order her coworkers to address a seventh-grade student by a different name and pronouns. In the email, the teacher reminds the staff that the child’s parents are unaware of the name change and encouraged the teachers to hide this change from the parents.
The email’s subject line is “Gender Support Plan 7th Grade” and is written by Tammy Lee, the school’s assistant principal. The email reads, “From here on out, Rebecca (redacted) shall be referred to as Evan (redacted) he/they. He will use the girls’ bathroom facilities. All students and staff may know. There will not be an announcement in class.”
Lee continued, “Evan’s parents DO NOT know, so Synergy and any information that goes home shall say Rebecca (redacted). Please make note in your sub plans to use Evan knowing the attendance sheet from Synergy will say Rebecca.”
EXCLUSIVE: I have obtained an email from the Assistant Principal of @pasqual_san where she advises teachers to change a 7th grader’s pronouns. She warns them that the student’s parents DO NOT KNOW. They are actively going behind the parent’s backs and hiding this information. pic.twitter.com/rFfs1CZ9Tj

Social media users were infuriated by the leaked documents. One individual commented, “So if Rebecca/Evan gets bullied as a result of there are altercations or perhaps they are just in a bad mental state, who would be held responsible since this information is omitted from the parents?”
