Local BLM Chapter To Bail Out Activist Charged With Attempted Murder Of White Louisville Mayoral Candidate

Rachel Droze, a reporter for Louisville local television station WHAS, said this morning, the Louisville BLM chapter was “heading to the bank to get a cashiers check to post Quintez Brown’s bail.”

Brown was arrested earlier this week after there was an attempted assassination of mayoral candidate Craig Greenburg. He was charged with four counts of wanton endangerment and attempted murder.

Droze uploaded a video of cashiers checks being turned in at the clerk’s office to cover Brown’s bail.

Brown entered a not guilty plea on February 15, and his counsel claimed Brown is a scholar and “a great kid.”  The amount of bail was set at $100,000. Brown’s lawyer said Brown “is battling some serious mental and emotional issues.”

Brown is a BLM activist and self-proclaimed black nationalist from Louisville, Kentucky, who has received acclaim from former President Barack Obama and MSNBC personality Joy Ann Reid.  According to WLKY, the $100,000 bond is payable in full cash only.

The assassination attempt took place Monday morning in Greenberg’s campaign office. Brown allegedly walked into the office with a gun and began shooting. Campaign workers were eventually able to barricade a door but Greenberg’s sweater was grazed during the shooting.

Responding to criticism of the BLM chapter’s spending, they fired back bringing up Breona Taylor’s case.

Since the moment Brown was arrested, the BLM Louisville chapter has supported him, saying “the radicalization of any Black person in American [sic] is justification of erasure of the genocide against Black people.” However, they noted they “have no idea what transpired in this situation.”
