Man Carrying Trump 2024 Flag At Trump Rink Tackled To The Ice

A supporter of former president Donald Trump who visited the Wollman Rink in Central Park over the weekend carrying a huge “Trump 2024” flag was tackled and wrestled to the ice by those that were unhappy with his flag display.

Dion Cini, a self-proclaimed “The Guerilla Marketeer” who would fly his Trump 2024 flag in iconic areas around New York City, said he was visiting the rink — run by the Trump Organization — as it announced its last weekend in business.

Reports said security guards started accosting him as he unfurled his pro-Trump paraphernalia before he wrestled to the ice as onlookers “boo” him and cheered the attack.

“I brought the Trump 2024 flag to Trump Wollman rink because it was the last day of The Trump organization managing the rink, which they’ve done for the last 30 some years, and wanted to celebrate another Trump accomplishment while also starting a campaign push for 2024, Citi told digital media company, The Daily Dot.

“As I was being attacked I heard people cheering as I was put into a chokehold, which shocked me because I thought they wanted unity and not watch their fellow Americans being [attacked] over a flag,” he added.

Various reports also said other ice skaters in the vicinity taunted the pro-Trump Citi, while others called him names.

“The crowd of ice skaters booed the man, who was wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, as he skated on the ice holding the flag, the video shows,” PIX 11 noted.

He was then tackled by another skater as people nearby clapped and another person took the man’s flag away,” it added.

The Daily Dot report noted that it was “a man in a Travis Scott hoodie [that] stole Cini’s Trump flag.”

Fox News earlier reported that Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio ordered the cancellation of the city’s skating rinks contract with the Trump Organization echoing in advance citing claims that former president Trump “incited an insurrection” related to the Capitol Hill riot on January 6.

“New York City kids deserve all the time on the ice they can get this year. The Wollman and Lasker rinks will stay open under current management for the few weeks left in this season,” City Hall Press Secretary Bill Neidhardt told The New York Post

“But make no mistake, we will not be doing business with the Trump Organization going forward. Inciting an insurrection will never be forgotten or forgiven,” he added.

On Monday, however, Mayor de Blasio admitted that the Big Apple acted too rashly when it decided to shutter the ice skating rinks — operated by the Trump Group.
