MLB’s Colorado Rockies Releases Statement On ‘Racial Slur Incident,’ Fan Was Calling Out For Mascot (VIDEO)
The Colorado Rockies acknowledged that the fan was screaming “Dinger,” the team’s mascot, and not hurling a racial slur, a day after issuing a statement about the usage of an alleged racist slur directed at Miami Marlins’ Lewis Brinson.
Someone with the Twitter account “vrhysta” responded to the Rockies statement with a video of the accused game fan.
“If you look closely he was trying to get the attention of “Dinger” the Rockies mascot,” shared the user on Twitter.
The users’ reaction to the Rockies has received hundreds of retweets and over a thousand likes.

Someone using the handle “IEdoyer” uploaded another video of the supposed event on Twitter.
“Rockies fans deserve a fair chance here. Before the man yells you can hear several people say the same word. The name pops up with the appearance of the Rockies mascot. Take a listen,” shared the user.

The Rockies’ organization said it reviewed the incident and concluded that the fan was screaming at the official mascot rather than a player.
