Some moviegoers are boycotting “Captain Marvel” and are watching “Alita: Battle Angel” instead.

Backlash over “Captain Marvel” star Brie Larson’s negative comments about white men has led to the viral hashtag #AlitaChallenge on social media.

Jack Posobiec, a conservative commentator and activist, made the following comment about the #AlitaChallenge in a video posted on his Twitter account:

We are sick and tired of you and your parent company, Disney, cramming your SJW bull crap down our throats…Now you’re pushing it with ‘Captain Marvel’…We are gonna stop giving money to people who hate us. That’s why we’re launching, and it’s already been launched on social media, the #AlitaChallenge. This Friday, March 8th, go see ‘Alita.’

This protest began after Brie Larson, the lead actress in “Captain Marvel,” expressed anger over her belief that movie critics are “overwhelmingly white male[s].”

Many negative comments were posted on the Rotten Tomatoes page for “Captain Marvel.” Rotten Tomatoes has since deleted many comments that it considers to be offensive.
