NBA: All Teams Play National Anthem Before Games After Mark Cuban Stopped Use

The NBA’s Chief Communications Officer Mike Bass has released a statement on Wednesday, “With NBA teams now in the process of welcoming back fans into their arenas, all teams will play the National Anthem in keeping with longstanding league policy.”

The Dallas Mavericks ‘The Dallas Mavericks have ceased playing the National Anthem before home games this season and do not plan to play it moving forward, a decision made by owner Mark Cuban that he confirmed to The Athletic on Monday evening.’

The Atheletic was the first media organization to realize the Mavericks did not play the national anthem on Monday.

According to Fox News, “The league’s announcement appears to be a reversal from its initial response on Tuesday in which NBA spokesman Tim Frank said, ‘Under the unique circumstances of this season, teams are permitted to run their pregame operations as they see fit.”

The team has not played the national anthem at any of its home games this season which Mark Cuban decided back in November.

The Dallas Stars hockey team released their own statement regarding the National Anthem.

Megyn Kelly said, “Fans who still choose to attend should put their hands on their hearts and just start singing it. Now that would be a moment.”
