Parler Will Return On Apple’s App Store After Company Makes Changes

Apple has agreed to allow Parler to resume its operations on its app store again because Parler updated its software to better monitor ‘hate speech.’

Parler made it into the spotlight after the January 6th US Capitol incident, being blamed for failing to ‘remove posts on its social network that were allegedly used to incite violence,’ according to NY Post.

“Amazon joined tech giants Apple and Google in taking swift action against Parler, the social media platform favored by President Trump’s supporters, by suspending the app from being active on its servers,” reported early Jan by NY Post.

Parler was offline for about a month and was online again on February 20 this year. The app was unavailable in the App store after being brough back online.

Former CEO John Matze was terminiated on Jan 29, 2021, “the Parler board controlled by Rebekah Mercer decided to immediately terminate my position as CEO of Parler. I did not participate in this decision,” Matze wrote. “I understand that those who now control the company have made some communications to employees and other third parties that have unfortunately created confusion and prompted me to make this public statement,” obtained by Fox News.

Dan Bongino responded days later to reveal the ‘real story‘ behind the firing of Matze. Video response at end of article from Dan Bongino.

Apple decided to ban the app on Jan. 9 and legislators sent Apple a letter on March 31 wanting to know exactly why Parler was banned from its platforms.

Accordoing to the letter from Apple’s senior director of government affairs, Timothy Powderly, Apple did communicate with Parler ‘regarding failures in its content moderation efforts.’

The company’s app team, in the letter wrote, they found posts that violoate its policies, “that encouraged violence, deinfrated various ethnic groups, races and religions, glorified Nazism and called for violence against specific people.”

Paul Joseph Watson wrote to Twitter in response to Rep. Ken Buck, “I give it 3 months before they’re kicked off again. Naturally this will be prompted by journalists on a witch hunt finding edgy posts that Parler failed to remove.”

Candace Owens responded, “Which is why Parler needs to sue Apple (still) and continually collect evidentiary tweets that are allowed to stay on Twitter. They need to develop an offensive strategy to protect themselves.”
