Patriotic Country Star Toby Keith Has Message To His Fans On 9/11

A song written by the country music artist in the days after September 11th, ‘Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,’ is his most well-known tune.

To commemorate the twentieth memorial of the September 11th attacks, Toby Keith urged fans to “never forget” the terrible day.

On Saturday, the 60-year-old artist sent a video on his Twitter account.

“On the 20th anniversary of 9/11, let’s all gather our families together and pray that God will keep us safe for the rest of our lives and forever here in the great United States of America,” Keith said in the video.

“We all know where we were during 9/11 and the impact that it had on this world. Let’s never forget. Always remember. Let’s stay vigilant and never apologize for being patriotic. God speed.”

“Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue,” which Keith composed in the days after the fall of the Twin Towers in 2001.

“I was sitting out there, just a few days after the Towers came down,” Keith recalled, according to TheBoot.com. “I was working out in the gym, and I heard these talking heads say, ‘Well, I guess we could bomb them. That would be so the American way, and I was like, ’What just happened to us? Are we supposed to just stand by and let this happen? Could we not be mad as hell about this?'”

“I wrote [‘Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue’] on the back of a Fantasy Football sheet that was laying there; I just turned it and wrote around the edges and, in about 20 minutes, wrote the lyric out and called it ‘The Angry American.’ When I turned it in, they said, ‘Well, it really doesn’t say “angry American” in there. Why don’t you call it ’Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue?’ So, I did.”

In Toby’s latest release Oklahoma Breakdown he has a song titled “Happy Birthday America.” The song is very representative of the political climate today. He sings “Happy birthday America, whatever is left of you,” in an obvious reference to the decline of patriotism and the rise of the America hating left led by the progressive Democrats.

One of the most powerful lines of the song is:

“All the broken-down cities
By the left’s design
And the right can’t seem to get it right
Most of the time”

It really rings true as the left is completely destroying the country and the right just can’t seem to figure out how to stop it.

If there is one thing you can learn from Toby it’s to not let it get you completely down and to never stop being Patriotic.
