Pelosi Accused Of Hypocrisy After Mingling With White House Crowd Without A Mask

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is being called out on social media for her alleged “hypocrisy” as she was spotted attending a White House function without a mask and mingling with a huge crowd of people also not wearing masks.

At the White House function late last week, the California Democrat was seen socializing with about 60 unmasked peers as Democratic President Joe Biden signed anti-hate crime legislation into law.

Republicans slammed Pelosi

Conservatives on social media slammed Pelosi and lashed at her for advocating mask wearing — vaccinated or not — only to be seen not heeding her own advice.

@SpeakerPelosi enjoys going mask free at the White House but enforces discriminatory masks rules in the House and fines for not wearing a masks,” Rep.  Marjorie Taylor Greene (Georgia) tweeted along with the hashtag “#HouseOfHypocrites.”

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany also called out Pelosi’s hypocrisy for fining House Republicans over her mask rules but doing the same thing in a huge gathering.

“Just watched a video of Nancy Pelosi not wearing a mask in a crowded room despite fining her GOP colleagues for following the science & no longer wearing the mask!” McEnany said. “Nancy is no stranger to hypocrisy.”

The group Young Americans for Liberty also blasted Pelosi.

@SpeakerPelosi is fining members for not wearing masks on the House floor,” Young Americans for Liberty tweeted. “Here she is maskless with her fellow Democrats in a crowded room. It’s not about health. It’s about control.”

“Pelosi enjoys flaunting her hypocrisy like it’s an expensive handbag,” radio host Buck Sexton commented.

Meanwhile, Rep. Thomas Massie (Kentucky) also hit the Democratic House Speaker — citing how Pelosi fined him for not wearing a mask in the House Chamber that same week.

“Meanwhile, @SpeakerPelosi fined me and @RepMTG and @RepBrianMast and other republicans $500 for not wearing a mask in the House chamber this week,” Massie tweeted.

“Hypocrite!” he added.

Pelosi’s camp defended her conduct saying the House Speaker submitted necessary documentation to attend the event.

“The Speaker was required to attest to her vaccination status and required to submit a negative test result in order to attend this event,” Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said of the event.

Pelosi’s mask rules in House chamber

Earlier, when asked if she would keep the mask mandate in the House, Pelosi said it was unfair to use the “honor system” to decide who is vaccinated and who isn’t.

“Do you want them breathing in your face, on the strength of their honor?” she said.

Earlier, Pelosi along with Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were seen practicing all the mask rules they were advocating despite being vaccinated. Pelosi sat masked, next to VP Harris who is vaccinated, while Harris was also masked.

Biden, who has been vaccinated, elbow-bumps Pelosi (who has been vaccinated and is wearing a mask) and Harris (who has been vaccinated and is wearing a mask) as if they were lepers he was terrified of touching,” Dan Mclaughlin, a senior writer at National Review said.

The Democratic House Speaker has been sparring with House GOP lawmakers who have opposed her mask mandate in recent days.

House Republicans like Greene, Massie and other GOP members defiantly ripped their masks off on the House chamber to prove Pelosi a point and brazenly shared unmasked pictures of themselves on social media.

Massie earlier wrote: “According to Nancy Pelosi’s rules, anyone in the House chamber without a mask, including and especially anyone at the podium, is fined $500 for not wearing a mask.”

“So I guess we can ignore that rule now that the President isn’t following her ridiculous rule,” he said, noting that Biden went unmasked while giving his speech in the House chamber earlier, despite Pelosi’s rule that everyone must wear a mask or pay a fine.

“Don’t tell Pelosi! Biden is breaking her rules and speaking in the House without a mask on!” Florida Rep. Greg Steube wrote that time.

Meanwhile, despite warnings of potential fines, Greene went as far as posting a video on Twitter of herself shredding a written warning she got from Pelosi.

“This is what I think of Pelosi’s letter,” the Georgia Republican representative said, before putting the written warning from Pelosi  through a paper shredder.
