Pres. Trump Lashes At McConnell, Other GOP Lawmakers In Series Of Tweets: “Time For Republican Senators To Step Up And Fight For The Presidency”

President Donald Trump accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other GOP lawmakers of “not doing enough” to fight for him following the outcome of the 2020 election.

The President said McConnell and other Republicans gave up too easily and didn’t “work hard enough” to ensure a second term for the GOP in the White House.

“If a Democrat Presidential Candidate had an election rigged & stolen, with proof of such acts at a level never seen before, the Democrat Senators would consider it an act of war, and fight to the death,” President Trump wrote on Twitter Saturday.

“Mitch & the Republicans do NOTHING, just want to let it pass. NO FIGHT!” he added.

President Trump’s claims came as the January 20 inauguration of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden looms and despite his team continuing to pursue legal challenges to overturn the election results amid multiple claims of widespread election fraud.

In another tweet, the president also lashed at the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for slacking and letting “overwhelming evidence” of election irregularities fall on deaf ears.

“The ‘Justice’ Department and the FBI have done nothing about the 2020 Presidential Election voter fraud, the biggest SCAM in our nation’s history, despite overwhelming evidence. They should be ashamed. History will remember. Never give up. See everyone in D.C. on January 6th,” President Trump said, referring to the planned protest in Washington on the day when Congress is scheduled to hold a joint session to accept the results of the Electoral College vote results.

The President’s tweet came as Attorney General William Barr, who earlier led the DOJ, officially left his post Wednesday (December 23) after announcing his resignation on December 14.

In his resignation letter, Barr updated President Trump of the DOJ’s “review of voter fraud allegations in the 2020 election” and said that “these allegations will continue to be pursued” despite his departure.

Barr was replaced by Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen, who will serve as Acting Attorney General and whom the President described as “an outstanding person.”

In an earlier post, the Republican president called on his supporters to show up for a “big protest in D.C.”

“Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election. Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” he wrote on December 19.

In his subsequent posts, President Trump lamented at the slow pace of all the investigations related to the origins of the Russia probe, and how the Supreme Court has been “totally incompetent and weak” regarding widespread reports of voter fraud.

The President ten urged GOP senators and other Republican lawmakers in Congress to “step up and fight for the Presidency” — again reiterating that the election outcome was “rigged” to favor Biden which took place through “massive late night mail-in ballot drops in swing states, stuffing the ballot boxes (on video), double voters, dead voters.”

“Time for Republican Senators to step up and fight for the Presidency, like the Democrats would do if they had actually won. The proof is irrefutable! Massive late night mail-in ballot drops in swing states, stuffing the ballot boxes (on video), double voters, dead voters,” President Trump said.

“….fake signatures, illegal immigrant voters, banned Republican vote watchers, MORE VOTES THAN ACTUAL VOTERS (check out Detroit & Philadelphia), and much more. The numbers are far greater than what is necessary to win the individual swing states, and cannot even be contested….”

“….Courts are bad, the FBI and “Justice” didn’t do their job, and the United States Election System looks like that of a third world country. Freedom of the press has been gone for a long time, it is Fake News, and now we have Big Tech (with Section 230) to deal with….”

Nonetheless, President Trump assured that when all the investigations are over, he will “win” for a second term.

“….But when it is all over, and this period of time becomes just another ugly chapter in our Country’s history, WE WILL WIN!!!” he said.

Meanwhile, President Trump also Also on Saturday, Trump defended his legal team after reports that potential sanctions against them were being pursued by Dana Nessel, the Michigan attorney general, after the Trump campaign had disputed that swing state’s election results, which were in favor of Biden.

“These lawyers are true patriots who are fighting for the truth and, obviously, getting very close,” Trump wrote. “AG should be sanctioned. Fight on!”
