President Trump DEBUNKS Greta Thunberg’s Claim That America Has Done “Nothing” To Improve The Environment (VIDEO)
President Trump criticized 17-year-old climate change activist Greta Thunberg’s false claim that “nothing has been done” in the United States to improve the condition of the environment.
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Greta Thunberg said, “It seems like the climate and environment is a hot topic right now. And lots thanks to young people pushing. But of course, if you see it from another perspective, pretty much nothing has been done since the global emissions of CO2 has not reduced.”
Thunberg continued, “And that is, of course, what we are trying to achieve, among other things. I mean, we are all fighting for the environment and the climate. And if you see it from that aspect, what has completely been done, I mean, if you see it from a bigger perspective than basically nothing. So but that’s of course, we had expected.”
When asked about Thunberg’s statement, President Trump responded by highlighting the improvements in air and water quality in the United States.
“I think that some people are. They put it at a level that is, you know, unrealistic to a point you can’t live your lives,” said President Trump. “We want to have the cleanest water on earth. We want to have the cleanest air on earth. Our numbers, as you saw, we had record numbers come out very recently. Our numbers are very, very good. Our environmental numbers are what our numbers are. Our numbers on air are tremendous.”
President Trump went on to point out the often-ignored fact that other countries, particularly Asian countries like China and Indian, should be held responsible for their lack of action on pollution and climate.
“We have to do something about other continents. We have to do something about other countries. When we’re clean and beautiful and everything’s good. But you have another continent where the fumes are rising at levels that you can’t believe. I mean, I think Greta ought to focus on those places, but we are doing better right now than we’ve ever done in terms of cleanliness, in terms of numbers. We have a beautiful ocean called the Pacific Ocean, where thousands and thousands of tons of garbage flows toward us, and that’s put there by other countries. So I think Greta has to start working on those other countries.”
During his optimistic keynote speech at the World Economic Forum, President Trump reminded people that technology is being developed that will solve problems that critics claim to be unsolvable.
“We will never let radical socialists destroy our economy, wreck our country or eradicate our liberty,” said President Trump. “America will always be the proud, strong and unyielding bastion of freedom in America. We understand what the pessimists refuse to see. That a growing and vibrant market economy focused on the future lifts the human spirit and excites creativity. Strong enough to overcome any challenge, any challenge by far.”
Trump continued, “The great scientific breakthroughs of the 20th century, from penicillin to high-yield wheat to modern transportation and breakthrough vaccines, have lifted living standards and save billions of lives around the world. And we’re continuing to work on things that you’ll be hearing about in the near future that even today, sitting here right now, you wouldn’t believe it’s possible that we have found the answers you’ll be hearing about it. But we have found answers to things that people said would not be possible, certainly not in a very short period of time.”
