Report: Spanish Politician Temporarily Suspended By Twitter After Saying ‘A Man Cannot Get Pregnant’
A Spanish politician has reportedly been temporarily locked out of Twitter last week after posting on his social media that “a man cannot get pregnant” because they have “no uterus or eggs.”
Reports said Francisco José Contreras, deputy to Spain’s far-right Vox Party, had his Twitter suspended for “12 hours” after his tweet, as the platform tagged his post to have violated the platform’s policies on “hate speech.”

Contreras made his remarks in response to an article he posted on social media about a transgender man who became a father after giving birth to a baby girl.
The Spanish politician revealed in a Facebook post on May 11 how Twitter informed him of the said violation to the social media platform’s policies on “hate speech.”
“I’ve been blocked from Twitter for 12 hours for ‘hate speech,’” Contreras wrote.
“The hateful tweet (which I was forced to delete) was one that said: ‘A man cannot get pregnant. A man has no womb or eggs.’”
“You can see this is already fascist biology. Next time I’ll try 2 + 2 = 4,” he added.
Contreras also shared Twitter’s message regarding the violation which read: “Hello, Fco. J. Contreras: Your account, @fjconpe, was blocked for breaking Twitter Rules.
Specifically, for the following reasons: Breaking rules banning hate speech behaviors.”
“No threatening, harassing or fostering violence against other people on the basis of their race, ethnic origin, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religion, age, disability or disease is permitted.”
“Keep in mind that repeated defaults may lead to permanent suspension of your account,” Twitter warned. “Go to Twitter now to fix the problem with your account,” it added.
In response to Twitter’s decision, Contreras’ supporters have launched the hashtag #AManCannotBePregnant.
“We will not yield to Twitter imposing a twisted (and anthropologically wrong) worldview,” Contreras said to LifeSiteNews in an interview.
“We will continue to speak the truth about human nature. Biological truth should not be regarded as ‘hate speech’. It’s biology, not bigotry,” he added.
Seriously? Even the “Party of Science” can agree that this is not biologically possible, right? #AManCannotBePregnant https://t.co/qPwfWXOAqF

Dumbass of year award goes to @Twitter for suspending Francisco Jose Contreras account for rightfully asserting #AManCannotBePregnant. It’s called science. Get over it.

Multiple reports noted that this is not the first time that Twitter flagged content from Vox Party, Spain’s far-right political party.
The Spanish publication Counting Stars reported that during the country’s election in January, Twitter disabled the official Vox party account for 24 hours after the organization alleged that high crime rates were linked to North African immigrants.
Early this year, Twitter also suspended its account for alleged “Islamophobic” tweets.
In February last year, Spain’s ultra-conservative party even took Twitter to court claiming that the social media giant violated its basic rights by blocking it from tweeting.
“The attitude of Twitter is violating basic rights such as freedom of expression, the right to political participation, ideological freedom and the principle of political pluralism and equality,” the party said then.
