Report: Taliban Insurrectionists Are Sending Warnings Of “Plans” To Those Who Worked With U.S.
Reports on the ground from Afghanistan are indicating that Taliban militants are on the hunt to kill people who have worked with US forces over the years in the country.
This comes as the US military and State Department scramble to evacuate Americans still trapped in the country, as well as Afghan allies.
A retired Marine sergeant, Ryan Rogers, said an interpreter he worked with during the 2010 battle of Marjah in Helmand province is currently cut off in Kabul with no means of reaching the airport as Taliban forces make rounds — murdering anyone and everyone who had ties with American troops — including former Afghan National Army commanders as well as interpreters on the ground.
Fears grow of Taliban revenge.

“He told me yesterday they hung three [Afghan National Army] commanders that they had found,” Rogers said, adding that the Talibans also sent a message of their “plans” for those that have worked with America during the 20-year war in the country.
“[He said that place was] close to the place that he’s hiding, they’re going house-to-house and that they sent a transmission out saying they had plans for the people that operated with America.”
The retired Marine sergeant said as of Thursday afternoon, the unidentified interpreter was still okay — although it remains unclear what his fate will look like under the Taliban.
“I said, hey, did you see any of this stuff with your eyes? He said yes,” Rogers told Fox News. “They’re not showing this stuff because the people are cheering, but they’re scared to death, and they’re hanging these people. And he said they’re going house to house and their priorities are Afghan National Army Special Forces, the police special forces and the interpreters.”

Biden acknowledge difficulty in reaching airport, Kabul
On Thursday, the Biden administration acknowledged reports that evacuees were indeed having difficulty getting to the international airport and Kabul, which is ringed by Taliban checkpoints.
State Department spokesman Ned Price said as of that time, the government had received a “small handful of reports” of American citizens who were having difficulty reaching the airport — where the evacuation is ongoing.
Price also noted that US officials were aware of reports that Taliban forces are hunting those that had any connection with the US in Afghanistan, although he said he couldn’t confirm the truth behind those accounts from the ground.
“I’m just not in a position to confirm those details,” the State Department spokesperson said. “Every time we see a detail like this, we take it extraordinarily seriously, and we do what we can.”
As Taliban troops surged throughout the nation over the last two weeks, there have been reports of these insurgents executing surrendering Afghan soldiers. Fox News said it has also obtained video showing Talibans in pickup trucks shooting gunshots in the streets of Kabul.
GOP blasts Biden admin’s manner of exit in Kabul
Republicans have slammed the Biden administration for the manner of its exit from Afghanistan.
Rep. Brad Wenstrup (Ohio), who is an Army Reserve officer, said: “In a bipartisan fashion, there’s extreme disappointment, especially by those that have served.”
“And we have lost on this our moral standing in the world, and it’s a sign of weakness rather than strength,” he added. “I find it hard to believe that our military and intelligence community would have recommended it this way,” he added, nailing the failure to Biden’s leadership. “Those are some of the questions that we need to have answered.”
American morality is being tested, and this is so far a black eye on the United States. If we do not honor our promises to the brave Afghans who stood by our side for 20 years, our warfighters will have a difficult time finding partners in future engagements.

Biden authorized on Saturday an additional 1,000 US troops for deployment to Afghanistan, raising to roughly 5,000 the number American troops there to ensure what Biden claimed to be an “orderly and safe drawdown” of American and allied personnel from the country.
The State Department is looking into non-military options for moving Americans and others in Kabul instead of deploying soldiers into the city, according to Fox News.
Nonetheless, Rogers sounded concerned that there won’t be enough time.
“It was desperate,” he told the outlet. “He said, ‘I have my pistol, and they’re never going to take me. There’s no way it can end like this. It can only end one way — glory be to God.’ I mean, he was scared,” Rogers continued, referring to his interpreter friend trapped in Kabul.
He also blasted the Biden administration for recently preaching that there’s no way to leave Afghanistan without chaos ensuing” saying America could have moved Americans and allies first before the Taliban took over.
“If somebody is going to help us for 20 years, and we’re going to make a bunch of promises to them, we need to fulfill those promises,” Rogers said, adding that based on pronouncement from authorities “it sounded like they weren’t going to go outside the airport.”
“[But] that’s where a lot of those promises are hiding right now,” the former Marine sergeant added.
