Resurfaced footage shows radical far-left Democratic 2020 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders sympathizing with Cuban communist Fidel Castro.
The video shows Senator Sanders saying that he was excited about Castro’s communist revolution of the late 1950s.
“I remember for some reason being very excited when Fidel Castro made the revolution in Cuba,” says Sanders in the video.
Sanders went on to say that it seemed right that “poor people were rising up against rather ugly rich people.”
One Twitter user who posted the video predicted that the communist Bernie Sanders will destroy the Democrat party.
Senator Bernie Sanders has made his presidential run centered around issues like increased social programs, free college education, and raising taxes on the ‘rich.’
“I use the term democratic socialism because I believe that we need policies to protect working families and not just the 1 percent,” said Sanders during an MSNBC interview with far-left reporter Chris Hayes. “But in addition to that, it is imperative to understand why so little progress is being made economically, and that is and I think my campaign is unique in saying this, if you want real change in America, if you want health capital, if you want real climate change reform, if you want education opportunities available for all. We have got to take on the ruling class of America. That is Wall Street, the drug companies, the insurance companies, the fossil fuel industry, the military-industrial complex.”
Most Americans are skeptical of politicians who hold similar opinions to Bernie Sanders due to the detrimental effects of socialism in countries like Venezuela and Cuba.
