SCOTUS Hears Oral Arguments On Biden Vaccine And Testing Mandates, Sign This Petition To Tell Them To End The Mandates

As the omicron coronavirus variant is spreading across the country, the Biden administration is asking the Supreme Court of the United States on Friday to approve sweeping vaccination requirements for healthcare workers and employees of large private companies in an effort to contain the virus’ spread.

It is expected that the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in a pair of highly-expedited cases that could determine whether millions of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers must be vaccinated in order to remain on the job and whether thousands of employers must implement vaccine-or-testing programs for their employees in the near future.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 205 million Americans have gotten a full COVID-19 vaccination, but tens of millions of others who are eligible have not yet received the jab.

Over the course of the past year, the conservative-majority Supreme Court has issued a mixed bag of verdicts on contentious government COVID policy. In August, a majority of the Supreme Court effectively overturned the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s eviction moratorium, ruling that it exceeded the agency’s authority. The court also overturned state public health restrictions on religious gatherings and capacity limits at churches on multiple occasions.

Given the urgency of the lawsuit and the ongoing public health emergency, a ruling from the judges is expected in days or weeks, rather than months.
