Shock Poll: Biden’s Draconian Vaccine Mandates Disapproved By Over Half Of Americans

According to a recent poll, over half of all Americans oppose President Joe Biden ’s proposal to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations that would impact up to 100 million American employees.

Nearly half of those surveyed by the Quinnipiac University also said the actions of the Democratic president to combat the surge of the coronavirus this summer triggered by the emergence of the more contagious Delta variant has gone too far.

According to the poll released Wednesday, 51% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s plans compared to the 48% that said otherwise.

Last week, the president made his most strong remarks to date, announcing new, broad-based federal COVID vaccination mandates for people working at firms with 100 or more employees, health-care workers, and government contractors.

Nearly half or 48% of those surveyed also said Biden’s vaccine mandate has “gone too far,” with only 10% saying they don’t go far enough and nearly four in 10 saying Biden’s actions were just “about right.”

When asked specifically about requiring vaccinations for businesses with 100 or more employees, 53% of Americans said they approve of the move, compared to 46% who said no.

In a speech at the White House last Thursday, Biden lashed out at the tens of millions of Americans who had yet to be vaccinated, despite months of availability and federal, state, and municipal incentives.

‘We’ve been patient. But our patience is wearing thin, and your refusal has cost all of us,” the Democratic president  said, as he noted that unvaccinated Americans “can cause a lot of damage, and they are.”

Nonetheless, Fox News reported that according to studies “the delta variant’s infection rate among those who are vaccinated is significantly lower than in people who have resisted taking the vaccine.”

Majority of Americans back “masking” rules

According to the survey, Americans “by a nearly two-to-one margin” support the push to require students, teachers and school staff to wear masks. A majority of them or 57% also support requiring masks while in “indoor public spaces.”

The survey added that by a 68%-24% margin, those who answered the poll said that the rise in COVID-19 related deaths this summer was “preventable.”

“It didn’t have to be this bad,” say voters. The nearly three to one margin of Americans who feel the country should have by now turned the corner on COVID underscores deep, lingering concern over the still menacing virus,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy commented.

A separate survey by Monmouth University also showed that 63% of Americans support COVID vaccine mandates for health workers, nonetheless, 58% support such mandates for federal employees, while 55% are okay with requirements for private contractors working for the federal government.

The Quinnipiac University Poll was conducted on September 10-13, with 1,210 adults nationwide questioned and a sampling error margin of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.

The Monmouth University Poll was done from Sept 9-13, with 802 adults nationwide and it has a sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
