SHOCKING NEW REPORT: Biden’s Ancestors On Father’s Side Owned Slaves

The president’s forefathers on his father’s side, according to a researcher who has done a thorough investigation into his family tree, owned enslaved individuals, according to documents found in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Accordig to Politico, Alexander Bannerman, who, along with presidential lineage expert Gary Boyd Roberts, co-authored an article on Joe Biden’s ancestry for the winter 2021 issue of the New England Historic Genealogical Society’s American Ancestors Magazine, discovered the findings while researching census records and slave schedules from Maryland.

Biden’s great-great-great-grandfather, Jesse Robinett, held two enslaved persons in Allegany County, according to Bannerman. Another great-great-great-grandfather, Thomas Randle, owned a 14-year-old boy in Baltimore County, according to the 1800 census, which Biden inherited from his father.

Additionally, according to the researcher’s findings, Randle and his family relocated to another part of Baltimore County in 1860, at which time they possessed a single male slave, as shown by census data.

The president has long emphasized his mother’s family’s Irish ancestry, the Finnegans, as a source of inspiration.

According to Politico, Bannerman and Roberts do not discuss Biden’s ancestors’ ties to slavery in their academic article, despite the fact that the authors argue that it is fairly common for Americans with colonial-era ancestors to have enslaved people connected to their family’s history (as is the case for Biden).

According to the genealogist, the article does include a mention to Biden’s ancestor Allen Robanet, who was descended through Varina Anne Banks Howell, the wife of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, who had a remote connection to her.

According to The Hill, the White House has been contacted for comment.
