SHOTS FIRED: Trump Calls Republican Congressman Justin Amash A ‘Loser’ And A ‘Total Lightweight’ After Amash Calls For Impeachment

President Trump took to Twitter early Sunday morning to fire back at Republican Congressman Justin Amash after Amash became the first Republican in Congress to call for the impeachment of the president.

Trump tweeted that he was “never a fan of @JustinAmash,” who has been serving as the representative from the 3rd district of Michigan since 2011.

Trump called Amash a “total lightweight who opposes me and some of our great Republican ideas and policies just for the sake of getting his name out there through controversy.”

Trump went on to accuse the Michigan Republican of not actually reading “the biased Mueller Report, ‘composed’ by 18 Angry Dems who hated Trump.”

In a second tweet, President Trump defended himself against Amash’s claims that he obstructed justice during the Mueller investigation, adding that the Mueller report is “strong on NO COLLUSION and, ultimately, NO OBSTRUCTION.”

In the same tweet, Trump asked Amash, “how do you Obstruct when there is no crime and, in fact, the crimes were committed by the other side?”

Trump concluded the tweet by calling Amash a “loser who sadly plays right into our opponents hands!”

Trump’s attack against Justin Amash was in response to a series of tweets that Amash wrote on Saturday, in which he called for impeachment charges to be filed against the president.

Amash tweeted that he had reached four “principal conclusions” after reading Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s 448-page report into possible collusion between the Trump Campaign and the Russian government.

One of Amash’s conclusions is that “President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.”
