Socialist Democrat Ilhan Omar Roasted On Twitter For Saying She Wants To “Abolish” The Death Penalty, Electoral College, And ICE
Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar is pushing to abolish the death penalty, the Electoral College, and the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE ) in the country.
The progressive Democrat made her push on Thursday, the same day that she blamed President Donald Trump for her father’s death due to the worldwide resurgence of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Abolish the death penalty. Abolish the electoral college. Abolish ICE,” Omar wrote on Twitter.
The famed member of the far-left Democratic group “The Squad” — along with self-proclaimed Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Michigan Rep. Rashida T’laib and Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley — Omar has been pushing for various progressive policies since they all took office in 2018.
Her list includes canceling student loan debt, the overly-ambitious “Green New Deal,” making healthcare public and banning fracking in the country, among others.
Earlier, Omar, who helped campaign for Biden despite earlier supporting Senator Bernie Sanders, said “The Squad” expects a “liberal turn” from the Democratic presidential candidate — drumming the pressure on the former VP Biden to ensure that their liberal policies become law.
The death penalty is a heinous, totalitarian practice often used against innocent people.

“We will have a cohort of progressives that are very clear about their objectives for wanting the implementation of Medicare for All and a Green New Deal and raising the minimum wage and not allowing for fracking,” Omar said then.
“As progressives, we have a clear understanding of what the inside and outside game is,” she added.
Omar’s comment to abolish the death penalty, the Electoral College, and the (ICE) receive some flak on social media — mostly slamming how dropping the ICE would allow immigrants to flood to the US.

Errol Weber, a candidate for Governor in California and a vocal critic of Omar said: “Abolish Communism. Abolish Socialism. Abolish The Squad.”
Meanwhile, as Omar pushes progressive agenda, Senator Sanders, who dropped out of the presidential race in April, said former VP Biden will become the ‘most progressive president’ since FDR.
He also urged ‘The Squad’ to make sure that this happens.

“We understand that electing Biden is not the end-all, it is the beginning,” the Vermont senator said in an interview with the four progressive congresswomen in October.
“We [have to] organize our people to make sure that Biden becomes the most progressive president since FDR,” Sanders said.
