Elon Musk Urges Barstool Sports Founder Dave Portnoy To Run For Office: Here’s Why
Elon Musk, the self-made billionaire CEO of Tesla (among other amazing companies), is someone who speaks his mind at all times. He says what he thinks and there usually isn’t any sugar-coating it. At a time when celebrities and others with a strong social media following are constantly wavering because they don’t want to be “canceled” by the far-left social media outrage mob, it is refreshing to hear someone speak his mind without holding back.
Recently, Dave Portnoy, the president of Barstool Sports (and maybe best known for his often-brutal pizza reviews) sounded off on Dr. Fauci regarding the entire coronavirus shutdown. He pointed out that originally, the entire point of flattening the curve was to “slow the spread”, not to keep businesses shut down and people from working. He went on to point out that the United States has already flattened the curve, and yet small businesses are being forced to remain closed and more than likely will not be able to reopen due to financial ruin.

As they often do in response to anyone who voices their desire to safely reopen the country, outraged Democrats sounded the alarm, calling Portnoy all sorts of colorful names. Many suggested that Portnoy cares more about making money than the virus’s high rate of contagion.
While ANY loss of life is a tragedy, keeping the country closed could result in the destruction of millions of workers and businesses, and loss of life from suicide brought on by losing their jobs, their income, and feeling helpless and hopeless. There are already far too many cases of this in the country and new ones are being added on weekly as lockdowns in some areas continue to be extended.
Amidst all the smoke set off by Democrats, Elon Musk came to Portnoy’s defense. Musk, who is a Twitter mainstay (with more than 34 million followers), retweeted Portnoy’s video post criticizing Dr. Fauci and commented that Dave was well spoken and should run for office.
Elon Musk went on to say that the “politicians & unelected bureaucrats who stole our liberty should be tarred, feathered, & thrown out of town!”
The wealthy will always run the world. That’s a simple fact. It costs hundreds of millions of dollars to run for major office positions, and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon. Due to this, the American people need to find wealthy individuals who are willing to take a stand, speak out for the rights of the people, and do what it takes to help the average American citizen. Dave Portnoy is one individual who was willing to put his entire name and business on the line to speak out against the politicized nature of the government lockdown.
Elon Musk understands the importance of getting America back to work and recently bucked the system by reopening Tesla’s Alameda County, California location. On May 11th, Musk tweeted about standing in support of production workers in the company’s choice to reopen saying, “Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me.”
While it is difficult to forecast if either of these individuals will ever run for office, they are at least stepping up and speaking out against the mainstream media and Democrats who want to keep the entire country, the economy, and jobs, under lock and key.
