‘That’s Real Folks’: Leo Terrell Breaks Down In Tears After 13 Americans Killed In Kabul Attack

Civil rights attorney and Fox News contributor Leo Terrell grew emotional during a recent segment of Fox News where hosts talked about the 13 US servicemen killed during last week’s attacks near the Kabul airport where American evacuation efforts are currently ongoing.

The African-American lawyer broke down in tears as former Marine Joey Jones talked about the US military troops killed — most of them 23, 22 and 20 years old.

“Leo, you look at those faces and you hear their stories,” Jones said on “The Big Saturday Show.”

“They want to be a sheriff’s deputy, they want to follow in their parents’ footsteps — but what I saw, I saw America, I saw people of every race, creed, gender, probably religion and they love each other and they love this country,” Jones added.

He then wondered if “our leaders” could grasp that love and service “where we are as a country, and maybe we’re not as bad as they sometimes say we are.”

To this, Terrell responded: “You saw the best and brightest, I won’t talk too long because I can’t.”

The civil rights attorney then bowed his head and began to tear up.

“That’s real, folks. That’s real,” Jones commented, saying what Terrell feels is “how we feel” — hinting that he had also cried over the deaths of the 13 US servicemen in Afghanistan.

“Those people loved each other,” Jones went on, explaining that he was a Marine and “just a country bumpkin” who “learned real quick” about life in the military.

“It has everything to do with how you treat people and the love you have and what you’re willing to do and those 13 heroes were willing to die for this country and die for each other,” he added.

Thirteen US military soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack at Hamid Karzai International Airport on Thursday, as crowds flocked to escape the country in the aftermath of the US military withdrawal and eventual Taliban control of the country.

In a media briefing on Friday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki admitted that “something went wrong” with the Biden administration-led efforts to pull out troops in Afghanistan — but she lashed at one reporter for questioning the decisions made by the Democratic administration in implementing its withdrawal out of the country.

On Sunday, Biden received the bodies of 11 of 13 service members killed in the Kabul airport attack. But Biden got slammed later on for appearing to check his watch during the service for the fallen heroes.

In a tweet, Terrell commented: “Too painful to watch! #GodBlessOurMilitary.”
